Seen any lately? Got photos? Smoked any? Moved to Ca. when I was 9, how do YOU guys feel about drilling in the game reserve? We have big debates about it in my nat'l resource mngmt class. (yes I'm a dirty tree huggin hippie...)jk! Is there still a Fireweed lane off of Bogart Dr. (or lane, crap I can't remember)... I'll bet my old house is a ballpark by now.... ;-)

Re: Northern Lights
Wed, March 23, 2005 - 10:00 AMahh yes, northern lights, winner of the cannabis cup a few years back.....
as to the drilling issues, i used to debate about that sort of thing in school too.
the funny thing about it is if the preserve had been set up correctly in the first place some of this would be a moot issue (there is a costal corridor that is excluded from the preserve) i personally find the whole thing very silly, really. arguing over a finite resource just does not work according my concept (albeit skewed) of logic...
fireweed??? that is in anchorage...though there may be a small one in wasilla.
we don't need no stinkin' ballparks
bogard is in wasilla
btw, nice to "meet" you! -

Re: Northern Lights
Wed, March 23, 2005 - 10:28 AMAgreed with the moot point arguement, this week I have to write a paper about global warming... like junior friggin high.. There used to be a fireweed lane OFF of bogard. As for the "in wasilla" that is amazing. Do Palmer and Wasilla touch yet? There used to be space between the towns here, sadly, no more. I am glad I found this tribe... It's nice to think about the good old days, when there were white X-mas' and snow days home from school...(God I must really need a break if getting snowed in sounds like a good time...) -

Re: Northern Lights
Wed, March 23, 2005 - 10:51 PMI don't know if you could say that Palmer and Wasilla 'touch'.....but there is no longer any point at which you can see nothing but road between them....The Palmer/Wasilla highway (we all call it the PeeDubya) is developing rapidly into a corridor of commercial craziness. Bogard is still fairly residential toward the 4 corners end but getting messier towards Wasilla...lots of new medical-type places and what-not. The Parks Highway would be totally unrecognizable to you now. Massive Rapid Developement seems to be the order of the day.
We have Freakin' Wal-Mart! And Home Depot! Gad.
Mountains are still gorgeous though! -

Re: Northern Lights
Thu, March 24, 2005 - 9:49 AMI remember when Wal-mart came here. Open 24 hours, what a Hell hole. We called it Wally World, we'd get wasted and go there to play with the wheelchairs, and snorkle gear. The emloyees were mostly stocking at night, so kicking us out was more just to break up the monotany... no, we wouldn't buy stuff, hence the kicking us out. We now have 2, and they want to put in a third. F-ing lame, we really don't need one for every 5 miles of freeway.... Lemmee guess there is no longer a starvin marvin pizza place.... sad.... I found some pictures of norther lights on the net, they look horrible... has no-one yet managed to figure out how to photograph them? Thanks for the hometown update guys ;-) -

Re: Northern Lights
Mon, April 4, 2005 - 9:57 AMyes, sadly starvins moved out of the main st and parks location, and if they exist, i dunno where, it is now an h&r block thing, but i have stopped paying attention to what is in there now that aurora imports moved.
oh and we have a lowes now too, go figure - no cosco yet.
wal-mart, and insurance are the new evil empires.
but don't get me started folks... -

Re: Northern Lights
Tue, April 5, 2005 - 12:05 PMI wake up late usually....the luxury of an artist/musician lifestyle tee hee....so I just read your posts.....sure....I could do an alien up your leg....be advised that henna turns out lighter the further away it is from your hands or feet....so any design done that way will sort of seem to gradually fade as it goes up....I'm not sure about guardian alien...It would help to have a photo to work from...have you ever had henna before? -

Re: Northern Lights
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 3:03 PMon a more serious note, i would like to have traditional henna work done this summer, when it won't be hidden under layers of clothing!!!
how long does it take to set? does it need to "set"? -
-
Re: Northern Lights
Sat, April 9, 2005 - 5:35 PMThe time involved depends a lot on the design, but in general, the way I do it, once the henna paste is on your skin, I cure it under heat lamps...or in the sun which is better...and then I cover the whole shebang with surgical tape...sounds and looks a little goofy, but the result is worth it....henna does best if it can sit on your skin, warm and semi-moist, for several (read; up to 12) hours. The tape enables you to live your life without too severe limitations for the time it takes to get a real good stain...feet and hands are the best places to put it. I am at tons of venues throughout the summer....it makes a fun party gig too.
